Fishing news: 44-pound stringer wins American Bass Anglers open on Kissimmee Chain

Levi Brown of Plant City had a total weight of 44.87 pounds and second big bass weighing 9.24 pounds to win the American Bass Anglers Bass Pro Shops Open Series two-day tournament on the Kissimmee Chain out of Lake Toho Oct. 3-4.

Robert Weeks had five bass weighing 9.9 pounds to win The Lone Fishing Club tournament Oct. 3 on the Kissimmee River. Robert Corey was second with three bass at 6.1 pounds and he also had big bass with a 3.3-pounder.

Marshall McCallum had 11.15 pounds to win first place in the Lakeland Bassmasters’ Draw tournament Oct. 4 on Lake Toho. Matt Keeble took second with 11.02 pounds. Darrell Cranor was third with 10.53 pounds. Clyde Allbaugh took big bass with a 6.95-pounder.

Time is safe light to 2:30 p.m. and social distancing is required during the weigh-in. The next Florida Crappie Club tournament is Oct. 10 on Lake Lochloosa out of the Lochloosa Lake Park ramp. Entry fee is $60 per boat for seven fish aggregate and big fish. Time is safe light to 3 p.m. This is the final event to qualify for the championship at Lake Kissimmee and a chance to win a 2020 Blazer 595 Pro Elite boat valued at $40,000.
